Shreveport Police are looking for a man who is wanted for attempted first degree murder for the robbery and stabbing of a taxicab driver.
Vandrick Williams, 27 of Shreveport, is accused of attempted robbery and stabbing of aa Yellow Cab Taxi cab driver. This happened in July of this year.
On July 22, 2006, patrol responded to a stabbing call at Jackson and Mertis. At that location a White Female Yellow Cab taxi driver was found with multiple stab wounds and was transported to LSUHSC.
Apparently she picked up a fare at Sam`s Town Casino and was supposed to take him to an unknown address in Queensborough. At Jackson and Mertis he put her into a choke hold and demanded money from her.
She tried to give him five dollars but he thought she had more money. In self defense, she armed herself with a knife, she had in the car, and cut him on his left cheek. He was able to get the knife from her and proceeded to stab her multiple times in the shoulder and neck area.
She was very lucky to have not had her artery cut. He then fled from the vehicle on foot and threw the knife on the ground. The knife was recovered and the taxi was put into evidence.
The victim is doing well and the wounds are non life threatening. Vandrick Williams is know to frequent the Queensborough neighborhood.
