vJust before 9:00 Friday night, police say Valerie Frederick of Shreveport jumped out in front of a car driven by Keithville's Horace Boles. Frederick was hit and later died at LSU Hospital. The southbound lanes of I-49, from Pete Harris Drive to Kings Highway, were closed for a good part of the night while investigators worked the scene. Police say Boles will not face any charges in the accident, and that alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
