Elderly drivers were given a crash course in driver safety.
The two day program provided information on defensive driving and how to adjust driving to age-related changes. The AARP class also covered new vehicle technology and once they complete the course drivers receive a certificate which may entitle them to get an insurance discount.
"As you get older you have some medical difficulties that you have to face. Your eye sight tends to go and you cant drive as long when you get older, you cant sit behind the wheel as long when you get older so you have to take those things into consideration,” admitted Sam Williamson.
This month AARP will be offering 5 classes around the Ark-La-Tex...its open to people 50 years old and up.
