Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon on KTAL

The Muscular Dystrophy Association Ark-La- Tex Chapter today announced their new partnership for the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon with local NBC affiliate KtAL TV. KTAL has joined with MDA and the national "Telethon Love Network" and will air the local segments of Jerry Lewis's Labor Day Telethon. KAL General Manager Scott Thomas said, "The entire staff at KTAL is excited about this new partnership with MDA. We look forward to the 2007 telethon and as well as a long-running association with this prestigious organization that does so much good in our community." In addition to broadcasting the local segments of the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, KTAL will be partnering with MDA on a number of other events including Stride & Ride and the Telethon Executive Lock-Up. The 2007 Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon will air beginning Sunday, September 2,2007 and will conclude on Labor Day, September 3rd. The Ark-La-Tex local broadcast will be seen on KTAL. Additional Ark-La-Tex corporate partners involved in the fight against muscular dystrophy include Sonic America's Drive-In and International Association of Firefighters. These and other local companies and organizations will be represented on this year's Telethon. Funds from the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon and other events support a number of Ark-La-Tex services, including the clinic at LSU Health Sciences Center for adults and children; summer camp; support groups and assistance with the purchase of medical equipment. MDA also funds a world-wide research effort to find causes, cures and treatments of the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by the association. The local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association serves over 550 families in the Ark-La-Tex.
