The city of Marshall, Texas is looking into possibly implementing a public transit system. A study conducted by the East Texas Council of Governments suggests about 20,000 to 40,000 people would use such a bus system each year. It would cost anywhere from $320,000 to $395,000 a year to run the transit system but the city would only pay twenty percent of that with the rest of the money coming from other sources. Within the next four months city leaders will decide whether or not they will fund the project. It could take about a year and a half after that decision is made to have buses actually running.
