Shreveport Man Drowns in Lake

Shreveport police are investigating a drowning that happened early this morning. Police say around 1:30 someone reported a man under water in a lake behind the Northwood Lake apartments in the 4300 block of North Market. Several residents of the complex went into the water to try to rescue the man, but could not locate him. Police say dive crews wound up finding the man within 15 minutes. After being under water for at least 40 minutes the man was reported dead. The victim was identified as Michael Weathers. Authorities don't suspect foul play.
