Reaction to Blanco's Decision

By: Joe Arena
Updated: March 21, 2007
While the governors office kept a tight lip until the announcement on Tuesday, it was no surprise to many that she would in fact decline a run for a second term. And according to at least one candidate in the race, Foster Campbell, it was no surprise. "I can certainly understand Governor Blanco not wanting to run again she's governed in some real tough times."

Along with the political reaction, the word on the street was similar to what Campbell had to say and by the looks of things the governor didn't make a bad decision. One Bossier City resident told KTAL "I don't think she's done an adequate job which is probably why she isn't going to run."

In contrast to those remarks some city officials including Bossier Marshal, Johnny Wyatt did say he was shocked by the announcement but also said it will open up a whole new realm for law enforcement leadership in the future.
