A Shreveport man is accused of indecent behavior with a juvenile. He's the latest to be arrested by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. 36-year-old Jimmy Yates is an employee at the Rutherford House, a place that helps troubled teens. He's been working there as an aide in the auto shop for about 2 years. Monday night Caddo Detectives arrested Yates at his Shreveport home, in the 27-hundred block of Marquette Street. There police seized computers, videos, and related items. Detectives say Yates was chatting on-line with someone he believed to be a 15 year old girl. After hearing about the arrest, supervisors at the Rutherford House suspended Yates from his job without pay.
"Until further information is given from the police department, and when we get more information, and our director is able to review it... then he'll make a decision whether continued employment or termination is in order," said Assistant Director Karen Brandao.
Monday night Jimmy Yates was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Bond was set at 10-thousand dollars. The case is still under investigation, and more charges could be filed in the future. Stay with KTAL for any new developments.
