breaking news
When a 911 call came into the Bowie County call center in February of 2005, a situation on the other end of the line pointed at methamphetamines. Police officers answered the call and determined that the victim had overdosed on meth. That sparked an investigation, and detectives searched the house the victim was in at the time of the emergency. That house belongs to 21 year old Ashlea Crosby. Officers arrested her after finding meth stashed under a mattress. This week, she went before a jury, and the jury deadlocked saying they could not, without a doub,t say who the drugs belonged to....Ashlea or the overdose victim. The deadlock means a mistrial. Prosecutors say more evidence is needed for a retrial.
