The incident started with an alleged attempted robbery of the First Stop Food Mart on Louisiana Avenue near I-20. Two officers on routine patrol then spotted a man, walking on Louisiana, who fit the description of the robbery suspect. They tried to stop at talk to him, that's when he fired a shot at the officers and fled. One of the officers fired back, but missed. The suspect, later identified as Clarence Taylor, III, of Shreveport, hid under the porch of a nearby home. K-9 Units were sent into the neighborhood, finding Taylor. One dog even bit him, prompting him to surrender. The officer involved has not been identified and is on paid administrative leave pending a routine investigation.
