Shreveport Police Investigating Carjacking And Rape At ATM Machine

Shreveport police detectives are investigating a reported carjacking and sexual assault of a woman that occurred about 9:30 p.m. last night at an ATM machine on Greenwood Road at I-20. The woman reported that the man approached her on foot and forced her back into her car. Police say, he then got in the car, sexually assaulted her and then drove her to another ATM to withdraw money. When the vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Caddo and Common streets, the victim saw two police officers. She fled from the vehicle and flagged down the officers. The suspect vehicle was pursued until it hit a light pole at the intersection of Pete Harris and Logan streets. The suspect escaped on foot.
