SPAR Summer Programs

computerThe City of Shreveport has an exciting summer planned for its residents. There is everything from free day camps for kids to activities for teens and seniors. In other words – there is something for everyone! Whether you’re a sports fanatic, an up and coming film-maker or just someone looking for some relaxing leisure activities … SPAR has a program, facility or event for you. Listed below are just a few of our offerings for the 2007 Summer Season. For a complete listing of facilities, events, and programs please log onto www.myspar.org.

KICK-OFF TO SUMMER FUN: Join us at any one of our SPAR Community Centers on Saturday, May 5th from 10:00am – 2:00pm for a day filled with fun activities celebrating the start of the Summer Season. All activities are free so bring the whole family!

On the last day of school – Friday, May 18 “Spiderman” will be playing at Riverview Park on Clyde Fant Parkway beginning at dusk. This outdoor theatrical experience is free and is brought to you by SPAR through a partnership with The Robinson Film Center.

SUMMER PLAYGROUND: Free summer camp for kids grades K-8. Located at 15 community centers throughout Shreveport, this camp is packed with fun and excitement between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm. There are visits from professional artists, field trips to local hot spots and all the fun and friendship you can handle.
