Shreveport Police Corporal Duane Farquhar was riding his motorcycle in a convoy escorting a wide load from Beaird Industries on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop Monday morning. Shreveport Police say a white Chevy pickup truck traveling along Millicent Way turned onto Bert Kouns in front of Farquhar's motorcycle, causing a dangerous chain reaction. Witnesses say Farquhar began swerving and attempted to gain control, but, the same pickup truck struck the motorcycle which then struck a nearby police car. Police say the driver of the truck kept going west on Bert Kouns and did not stop. Farquhar is in stable condition at Willis Knighton Pierremont with minor injuries. The crash is still under investigation. The driver in question is not facing criminal charges because it is unclear as to whether the truck actually made contact with the motorcycle. However, the driver is still wanted for questioning. The vehicle is described as a white Chevy pickup truck and the driver is believed to be a white male. If you have any information, call Shreveport Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373.
