Browne admitted to murders in several states including Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana, including the murders of Wanda Hudson, Ailene self, and Catherine Hays, all of Coushatta. Residents of Coushatta, the small town where he grew up, are in shock after hearing of his confession. According the sheriff who taught Browne at the local elementary school, he was a good student and kept to himself. In the neighborhood, where he grew up neighbors said Browne was a nice man and good with kids. Vickie Woods lived less than twenty yards from Browne with her family and says he often took her kids on trips and threw parties for the community. After the news of Brownes confession Vickie was almost in too much shock to talk, but she told KTAL reporter Joe Arena, "That`s what so scary about it he was born on Halloween and so he loved to throw Halloween parties and he would take the kids to go fishing and shoot fireworks. " Residents of Coushatta say that Browne actually moved into the home one of his victims, Wand Hudson, who was apparently tortured to death. Hudsons home is no longer standing but it was just few yards from where Robert Browne lived.
