Updated: February 6, 2007
After investigating the property deputies and social workers found the living conditions inside the home were not fit for anyone. Sheriff deputies served an arrest warrant today and took three people into custody. A nine year old child`s mother, grandmother and grandfather were arrested. According to social workers the nine year old child was living under unsanitary conditions. Cat fetus was everywhere inside the house. There was only one bed for four people. The nine year old slept on the bend of a sectional sofa. Deputy Scott Tucker says the people were also washing their dishes in the bathroom sink. "Although the people said they had been cleaning since child protective services had been there it was still not fit for anyone to live there. When we arrived on the scene and got out of the cars you could smell it." Social workers also found a dead decomposing cat on the sofa where the child slept. On the 11th social workers placed the child under the protection of other relatives. The three people taken into custody were charged with one count of cruelty to a juvenile. They can serve up to ten years in jail for the charge.
