After a two month investigation, the Caddo Shreveport Narcotics Unit arrested 49-year-old Clyde Davis for possessing and selling prescription drugs.. "Two counts possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute and one count possession of schedule III narcotics with intent to distribute," said Lt. Kevin Dunn, Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit. Monday agents seized two vehicles, 8-thousand dollars in cash, and about 500 pills including prescription medications like Xanax, Lortab and Methadone. "You're looking at $12,000 worth of just drug assets seized, then the 2 vehicles. So you're looking a t quite a large seizure," said Dunn. Clyde Davis owned CD's Paint and Body Shop in North Shreveport.
Detectives say Davis was selling the drugs out of his business. "If you were a person that watched everything, you could easily pick up on that," said John Taylor. Taylor owns the body shop next door. He says Davis had a steady stream of customers coming in the front door, but there didn't appear to be a whole lot of activity going on in the actual body shop. "There's a lot of traffic over there. But not a lot of work being done," said Taylor. Detectives say Davis admitted to selling the drugs for the last three to four months. They believe he was getting them from a supplier in Texas, but the investigation is still ongoing.
