Ten men are the latest suspects arrested by the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. All of them are charged with computer aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes. "Just shows the perversion that is in our society, when you have grown men that are getting on the internet and are wanting to say nasty things to people that they think are little girls," said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator. James Prine of Shreveport, was arrested for attempted rape, two counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes and attempted possession of child pornography. When he was taken into custody deputies say Prine had over 40 condoms, rope, tape and a gun. "He showed up under the pretense of meeting a 30 something year old mother and her 11 year old daughter after having explicitly said on the internet what he wanted to do to the daughter," said Prator. Joshua Mills, 23, of Anacoco, LA and Chris Gordy, 31 of Keithville were already fugitives wanted in Webster Parish for obscenity, indecent behavior with at juvenile and computer aided solicitation charges when they were brought into custody. Gordy was also booked on additional charges he had in Caddo Parish including; two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes. The following people were also arrested during the recent sting operation: Milton Slocum, 42, of the 500 block of Waterford in Shreveport, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for computer-aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes, indecent behavior with juveniles, and attempted possession of child pornography. Last year the task force made 80 arrests. This year they're anticipating the as many as 200. Bossier City Marshall Johnny Wyatt says those numbers just scratch the surface of the magnitude of the problem.. "If we had task forces in every city, we'd have over 500 or a thousand this year," said Wyatt. Despite the success of the task force, Wyatt says the battle against internet sex predators is far from over. And parents are the best defense against these types of crimes. "It scares me to death. I don't know what my five grandkids gotta watch out for. But I can tell you we're going to be there monitoring them," said Wyatt.
