Tech to meet So. Miss in NIT

RUSTON - After notching the program's first NIT win since 2002 with a road victory against Florida State, No. 5 seed Louisiana Tech will travel to take on No. 1 seed Southern Miss on Monday, March 25 at 9 p.m. CT in the second round of the postseason tournament to be televised live on ESPNU.

A limited number of tickets are on sale now through tomorrow's business day at the LA Tech Ticket Office. Bench seats are $10 and chairback seats are $15. Fans wishing to purchase tickets can do so in person at the ticket office inside the TAC or by calling 318-257-3631.

Any tickets purchased today or tomorrow can be picked up at the LA Tech Ticket Office. Only way to guarantee seating within the LA Tech section is to purchase them through the LA Tech Ticket Office before end of business day Friday. Tickets will be served on a first come, first serve basis.

Tickets purchased after Friday must be done so through the Southern Miss Ticket Office (www.southernmisstickets.com or 1-800-844-8425) and be picked up at will call at the Reed Green Coliseum.

The Alumni Association will also be hosting a pre-game event from 5:30-7:30 for all LA Tech alumni and fans at Mugshots Grill and Bar located at 204 North 40th Avenue in Hattiesburg.

LA Tech (27-6) bested the future conference rival earlier this season in a hard-fought 65-55 victory in Ruston. USM (26-9) advanced by outlasting No. 8 seed Charleston Southern 78-71, its first postseason win since 1988.

The two squads had the highest RPI's of any of the 32 teams selected into the National Invitation Tournament, the Golden Eagles with an RPI of 31 and the Bulldogs with an RPI of 54.
