A LSU-Shreveport professor has taken home a title the school hasn't received in almost thirty years.

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities named political science professor, Dr. William Pederson, Humanist of the Year.  The endowment honors a person for their contributions to, and their encouragement of, subjects relating to humanities.

Dr. Pederson founded the first international Lincoln Center for American Studies at LSU-S thirty years ago.
