Three suspects trying to steal used auto parts in Benton were caught in the act.

Deputies captured Frank Crandell, 24, Blaze Blackman, 41, and Lowell Spence, Sr., 55, late Sunday night in a car lot on Hwy 3.

Blackman and Spence were discovered hiding under some of the cars with tools and a generator used to help dismantle the vehicles.  Crandell was also seen driving on the lot to partake in the heist.

The owners of the business had previously reported to authorities that parts had been stolen from some of their cars.

Crandell, Blackman and Spence admitted to investigators that they had stolen thousands of dollars of car parts including Catalytic Converters, tire rims and radiators over the past few weeks.

All of the suspects were booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and charged with felony theft, criminal trespassing and criminal property damage.  Crandell was also arrested on a fugitive warrant.
