Rep. Norton is working hard to make sure you don't lose quality health care.
Monday morning Rep. Norton unveiled new legislation regarding President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act. She introduced House Bill 110 and House Concurrent Resolution 4 during a press conference at the Mooretown Library.
Both pieces of legislation will require that Louisiana Medicaid eligibility standards conform to those established by the Affordable Care Act.
Rep. Norton said, "Without the Medicaid expansion, many citizens in Louisiana will fall through the cracks in our health care system." She said this legislation will be used to encourage Gov. Jindal to reconsider his position in denying Louisiana's participation in the Affordable Care Act.
Caddo Commissioner Ken Epperson, area doctors and other elected officials were on hand at the event to show their support for Rep. Norton's new legislation.
