NATCHITOCHES -- NFL scouts will take a long look at Northwestern State's 2012 draft prospects Friday morning during the Demons' annual Pro Day workouts in Turpin Stadium.

Nineteen NSU players whose college careers concluded last fall will work out hoping to impress the pro scouts. Safety Jamaal White, a two-time All-Southland Conference selection, is picking up traction in pre-draft speculation as a potential choice in the NFL's seven-round draft this spring.

The New Orleans Saints, the Green Bay Packers, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills are among the pro teams who will have representatives attending, said NSU director of football operations Dan Korn.

The Pro Day activities begin inside the NSU Athletic Fieldhouse at 9 a.m. with "measurables" -- height, weight, hand and arm length, and bench press repetitions. The session in Turpin Stadium at 9:45 is open to the public, who can watch from the stands as the Demons go through testing in the vertical and broad jumps, the 40-yard dash and other sprint and shuttle runs, and position-specific drills.

The 2012 NSU seniors working out also include safety Brashard Booker, cornerback Temeni Brewster, receiver Clifton Brown, fullback Jake Bryan, offensive lineman Larry Calcote, defensive end Anthony Gilbert, receiver and return specialist Phil Harvey, defensive lineman Denzell Hawkins and quarterback Brad Henderson.

Other Demons going through their paces Friday are lineman Destry Hesskew, defensive back Cortez Paige, offensive lineman Isaac Puapuagna, running back Sidney Riley, two-time All-America linebacker Derek Rose, defensive end Bryan Ross, punter Nic Russo, kicker John Shaughnessy, deep snapper Justin Warner, and defensive end Wade Williams.
