Tough night for area girls basketball!

The Southwood Lady Cowboys used another stifling defensive performance to defeat Dutchtown 51-40 in the quarterfinals of the state basketball tournament. The Lady Griffins were the first team to score more than 30 points against Southwood in the playoffs but it wasnt enough as the Lady Cowboys used a balanced attack led by Ricosha Kindells 14 points. In other area action, Glen Oaks defeated Parkway 84-75, Iota 91 Homer 57, Arcadia 57 Evangel 40, and Mansfield moved on with a 61-48 win over Marksville. Winners advance to the state semi finals in Hammond on Monday.
