Military cuts funds for active duty taking college courses

Active-duty soldiers and marines will now have to pay
for college courses because of sequester cuts.
On Mar. 8, the Army and the Marines announced the suspension of its tuition assistance program. Approximately 200,000 soldiers taking courses through the program will be able to complete their current classes.
No aid applications for future coursework will be accepted. The Air Force is supposed to make a decision by Mar. 15 on whether it will cut tuition assistance.
