We have new information about the two fugitives wanted for murder in east Texas. 31-year-old Jason Stevens Rand and 21-year-old Oriel Jacinta Alexander were both arrested Sunday night in Houston, Texas.
According to Houston PD they received a tip on the duo's location. Monday morning a group from the Marshall Police Department and Harrison County District Attorney's Office traveled to Houston to bring the suspects back to Harrison County.
Rand is still being held in a Houston jail for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in Harris County. It's unclear when he'll be back in Harrision County. Alexander is expected to be back in Marshall Monday evening.
Rand and Alexander were wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 28-year-old David James Cherry. Harrison County District Attorney, Coke Soloman believes surveillance video showing Cherry's porch the night of the crime helped capture the two suspects.
Rand has an extensive criminal record in Houston. He has the pending possession case along with other recent charges. Rand was previously arrested for misdemeanor theft. He was also given a five year sentence for delivery of a controlled substance. Later he was sentenced again for delivery of a controlled substance.
