Piling repairs shut down Caddo Parish bridge

You need to find an alternate route if you travel on the LA 173 bridge near Blanchard.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 18 the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is closing the LA 173 bridge over Mahlin Bayou .48 miles east of the junction of LA 1.

The project is expected to take up to five days to complete.

DOTD officials say you must detour using LA 1, LA 530, US 71 and LA 173.  This detour route is due to LA 169 and LA 538 both being closed for bridge replacement and I-49 construction.
