Shopping for a cause

Some people shopped until they dropped at this year's Junior League Fundraiser.

Saturday's event, Shopping for a Cause, featured more than 100 businesses from around the country.

From fudge, to the latest in fashion, each booth had something for everyone.

Marketing Chair, Kristen Gary, says the annual event helps develop the potential of Shreveport's women.

"The Junior League gives women an opportunity to do things that they may not get to do in their everyday life. We also volunteer in the community, and it's beyond just the work we do for the Junior League, it's teaching women how to be most effective in their volunteer activities."

This is the biggest fundraiser for the organization, and all of the money raised will help plan future events.
