Local woman injured in accidental shooting

A Shreveport woman is recovering this morning after she accidentally shoots herself.

The shooting happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of E. 66^th Street.

Police say the woman allegedly mishandled a gun and it discharged striking her in the lower body. She suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
