Still working on Wells Island Road water woes

It's a plan that's been in the works for months. Caddo Parish commissioners are trying to figure out a long-term water plan for folks who live off of Wells Island Road.
About a month ago, the Caddo Parish Commission voted not to fund the construction of a water line off of Wells Island Road.
Commissioner Michael Williams says he plans on asking state lawmakers to foot the bill, so they can avoid stirring up the pockets of residents.
"We're asking the state, because of the emergency of the situation to come in and give us emergency aid," says Williams. "The second plan is we meet with our legislators this week to let them know about our legislative priorities. We hope to include the Wells Island Road initiative in the Wells Island Road priorities."
This all started back in November when the city of Shreveport found out the company Analytical Logging was reselling city water to the people in that community. The city then shut the water off.
The parish ultimately wants to put in a water line for the neighborhood, but they still need to figure out who's going to pay for it.
When the commission meets with state lawmakers on Friday, we'll let you know what comes of the meeting.
