Arson suspected in Hope, Arkansas factory fire

Arson is suspected in a factory fire in Hope, Arkansas.

The building, which has sat vacant for several years, was destroyed Tuesday night.

The fire broke out at East Division and South Hazel around 6:30 p.m..

The Hope Prescott Newspaper is reporting the building was engulfed by the time firefighters arrived. They were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. A nearby gas line continued to fan the flames even after the fire was out. Utility crews worked to shut it down.

The building used to be home to "The Fink and Company Puzzle Factory" and "The W. Shanhouse and Sons Garment Factory."
