East Texas pilot dies in plane crash

A Marshall man and three others were killed when their plane went down in New Mexico.
John Verhalen III, 33 died Sunday afternoon when a single-engine plane crashed in Angel Fire, about 150 miles northeast of Albuquerque.
Verhalen's sister Sara, 41, Chloe Jameson, 13 and Jennifer Woodward, 26 were also killed in the crash.
State Police and NTSB continue to investigate the cause of the crash but authorities say there were strong winds in the area at the time of the accident.
No one on the ground was hurt.
Meanwhile, the Rev. Denzil Vithanage, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church confirmed this afternoon there will be a prayer vigil for the Verhalen family tonight at 6 p.m. at the church on 410 North Alamo in Marshall.
