Eula Henderson has lived in the Cedar Grove neighborhood for 13 years, and this weekend's deadly shooting was a first for her. "I heard like 40 something bullets, shots fired," says Henderson. "I said 'oh my goodness, I wonder did somebody get hit.'"
Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Shreveport Police say four men were shot outside this home on Burlingame.
According to police, a party was going on outside the home when someone started shooting, hitting four men inside the home.
Eighteen year-old Chauncey Broadway was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other three men had non-life-threatening injuries.
Henderson said the shooting isn't going to scare her away. "No, I'm not moving, because I'm buying this house," says Henderson. "I'm not moving."
Another woman told NBC 6 that Burlingame is one of the worst streets in that area.
Cindy Kenedy says she has to tell her children to duck and hide from gunshots too often.
"It's very dangerous," says Kenedy. "I have to have my grandchildren hit the ditch or [they've got to go to a] certain place in the house where we've got to hide in behind the walls until I tell them to come out."
Kenedy thought the shooting was right outside her front door. "I thought my house was rocking, then boom, boom, boom, I hit the floor," says Kenedy.
She wants police to beef up patrols in her area to stop the violence. "It's dangerous 'round here, I wouldn't advise anybody to move on Burlingame Street," says Kenedy.
Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call Caddo Crimes Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
