FireThe Carson family is homeless. "I hope God in time will reach their hearts,” admitted Ronald Carson. The heart's of Carson's nephew Tony Derren Gay and Marsha Anna Woods. Both face a string of charges. "He has been a theft, he's been on drugs, home burglaries, thefts and that type of background. Most of the time it's to support substance abuse,” said Sheriff Larry Dean, Bossier Sheriff’s Department. Detectives say substance abuse might have been what led Gay and Woods to burglarize and burn the home as well as an historical church. The two are also wanted for allegedly breaking into six other churches. Despite the loss, Carson says his neighbors in the community aren't letting him feel abandoned. "People they keep coming with food, clothes coming with kind words of sympathy,” explained Carson. Thanks to Louisiana's Crime Victim Reparation Fund the Bossier sheriff handed Carson a check for $500.00 a small step to help rebuild the house Carson built one brick at a time. "To tell you the truth, I've got more money in my pocket than I've ever had,” admitted Carson. Even though Gay and Woods destroyed priceless items in the house they didn't take away Carson's dreams of finding another home sweet home. "We can live and have a thrill on the hill."
