Starting Friday you can sign up to be a part of the 2013 Great American Cleanup.

You and your friends can volunteer to cleanup or beautify an area on April 13 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

You can register on the Shreveport Green website  www.shreveportgreen.org or call (318)219-1888.

This is the 23rd year that hundreds of volunteers will join in an effort to remove trash from city streets, neighborhoods, and highways.

Last year more than 800 volunteers collected over 62,000 pounds of trash from area streets and parks.

Free t-shirts will be given to the first 500 registered volunteers.

The deadline to register is April 5.
