Major theater festival underway at local college

More than a 1,000 students are gathering at Centenary College for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
Actors, musicians and instructors from a six state region are taking part in the festival that starts today and runs through Saturday.
For the next three years, Centenary will be home to the festival which celebrates the finest and most diverse work produced in college and university drama programs.
Students will participate in six performances at the Strand Theatre. A panel of judges will then select the most exemplary festival production to be showcased in the spring at the national festival held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
