The Louisiana State Fairgrounds was filled with people Saturday, as they celebrated the life of American hero Caesar Carpenter Antoine. Antoine was Louisiana's third African American Lt. Governor.

He also served as a captain in the Union Army during the Civil War and sponsored charter legislation that helped Shreveport become recognized as a city.

The 5th annual C.C. Antoine Black History Festival was held at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds. It featured health and wellness fair, and several music artists from the ArkLaTex. There were also clowns and several vendors.
