Local band "Dirtfoot" kicked off the free Louisiana Hayride concert. It focused on American roots music. It takes a look at how legendary performers like Huddie Ledbetter became some of the most celebrated American music icons in the 20th century.
The concert also featured Jones' first local performance since he's returned from the show X-Factor.
"I'm really nervous actually but I'm really happy to be here to be able to perform in front of my community and on the Hayride, so many stars were found here," said Willie Jones.
The Louisiana Hayride was often called the original American Idol. The show is famous for discovering the likes of Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Kitty Wells.
