Brace yourself for major traffic delays starting next week in South Bossier Parish.   The Arthur Ray Teague extension from Jimmie Davis Hwy. to Hwy. 171 at Sligo Rd will open next Wednesday.

This will have a major impact on traffic at Parkway High School in the mornings and afternoons.  A big concern for school leaders is the lack of a stop sign or traffic light.

Sonja Bailes says it will be difficult for people on Sligo Road to make a left turn onto Colleen Drive to enter Parkway.  Unlike in the past there's now oncoming traffic.

Law enforcement will be out next week assisting with traffic, but they'll only be there temporarily.  Parents and students are advised to leave home earlier and be prepared for delays.

Alternate routes are recommended for parents and have been provided on the Bossier Parish School Board's website http://www.bossierschools.org/cms/page_view?d=x&piid=&vpid=1350639302250
