Up, up and away. At least that's what gas prices seem to be doing. For many alternative fuel seems to be the key to keeping money in their pocket books.
NBC 6 News caught up with some folks in Bossier City who are enjoying the savings from compressed natural gas. There are two fueling stations in Bossier Parish. One is located on East Texas Street and the other can be found on Barksdale Boulevard.
CNG is going for $1.45 a gallon. While flex fuel vehicles can fill up on E-85 for $3.20. The current average for gas in Shreveport-Bossier City is $3.53. While the national average stands at $3.73 for regular unleaded gas.
A key factor driving up prices: A number of refineries are down from coast to coast. Also earlier this month there was a fuel shortage in California, so supplies were being diverted from other parts of the country.
