Local Philanthtopist, Sam Peters, Has Died

A local philanthropist has passed away. Vivian native, Sam Peters died Monday of natural causes. Peters was best known for his role as Chief Financial Officer for a chain of Coca-Cola plants and for his charitable work here in Shreveport. 87-year-old Peters was a vital figure with the Shreveport Symphony, Holy Angels and Centenary College. His memorial service is Wednesday morning at 10:30 at First United Methodist Church of Shreveport.
