More security changes could be headed to a school near you.  One Caddo Parish school leader wants every student in the system to have an identification badge.  This is a recommendation made by school board member Dottie Bell.

If it actually does happen it would be a very costly endeavor.  Right now only students in high school and at Donnie Bickham middle school have IDs.

Currently 46 schools in Caddo Parish aren't equipped with ID equipment.  That number includes every elementary and alternative campus.

To have every school up to speed would costs more than $500,000.  Not everyone agrees badges are the best way to improve security on elementary campuses.

Another option presented at a meeting Wednesday is having mobile ID equipment, which can be used at multiple campuses.

Another meeting will be held March 13th to look into other options.
