The standoff began last last night in the 3900 block of Melinda Street. Authorities received reports of a man who would not leave his grandmother's home.
According to police, deputies spoke with the man and asked him to come out of the house. The man refused and at some point over the next two hours, he lit a butane tank which caught a sofa on fire.
Shreveport Police were able to subdue the suspect with a non-lethal shot gun. He was then taken into custody.
