Family members of a man killed by Shreveport Police speak out Monday after the Caddo Parish's District Attorney's Office clears officers of any wrongdoing.

22-year-old DeEric Bailey was killed Aug.18 after a high speed police chase came to a halt on I-20. His aunt Jimmerlynn Glover calls the District Attorney's findings a "slap in the face."

She, along with her sister, Tushica Bailey, De Eric's mother, said the police had several other options besides killing their loved one.

"You could've snatched him out the car, you could've tasered him, especially when you see he was unarmed," said Jimmerlynn Glover.  "He didn't have no weapon pulled on you and you standing in his door. so he had all the opportunity in the world to jump up and get him. "

"It's senseless to me," said Tushica Bailey. "You kill somebody over a traffic stop, to shoot somebody that many times, an unarmed person, you got people out here robbing, stealing, raping, killing, you ain't kill them like that, it's crazy to me."

Glover said she will continue to fight for justice for her nephew.

Throughout the investigation, the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office found DeEric Bailey's blood alcohol content lever to be .304, more than three times the legal limit.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Corporal Hai Phan fired 16 shots at Bailey. Bailed was pronounced dead at LSU-Hospital.

DeEric Bailey leaves behind two young children.
