A man is behind bars this afternoon in connection with the attempted rape of a young woman.

On Feb. 8 Brandon Gibson, 27, allegedly forced his way into a woman's home on Dellwood Ave. and tried to sexually assault her after she agreed to charge his cell phone.

Once the woman escaped, Gibson fled the scene on foot but was later caught by Caddo Sheriff's deputies and K-9 units at a home on Hampton Lane.

A K-9 was used to subdue Gibson after he struck a deputy in the face during his arrest.  Gibson was later taken to LSU hospital to get treatment for a dog bite.

Gibson was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center and charged with attempted forcible rape, aggravated burglary, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, two counts of resisting an officer, resisting an officer with force, battery of a police officer and possession of schedule II narcotics.
