A Bossier City man was hit by a Kansas City Southern train and survived.
The accident happened shortly before 1 a.m. Monday morning on the train tracks between the Horseshoe Casino and the Louisiana Boardwalk.
The KCS engineer told authorities Kenneth Thomas, 52, stepped into the side of the lead engine while attempting to cross the tracks.
Investigators say the train was traveling at about 10 miles an hour at the time of the accident.
Thomas, who was taken to LSU hospital with an arm injury, was issued a citation for trespassing.
