The chief of police in Haynesville, Louisiana has been arrested after a lengthy investigation by the Louisiana State Police. During that investigation troopers reportedly discovered that Chief Anthony Smith allegedly forged the signature of another person on a check, then deposited the check in his personal account. It is believed that on several other occasions, Smith stole money from the same victim. Troopers arrested Smith Thursday, February 15 at the Claiborne Parish Sheriffs Office. Smith is awaiting bond in the Claiborne Parish Jail.
