Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover filled two openings
on his administrative staff today by appointing Sherricka Fields as assistant chief
administrative officer and Steven Jackson as staff executive assistant.
Both Fields and Jackson earned master's degrees in
2012 from Louisiana State University Shreveport, with Fields concentrating on
business administration and Jackson on history and public policy.
Fields is a Shreveport native and 2005 graduate of
Centenary College with bachelor's degrees in finance and business
administration. She spent 10 months working as manager of administrative services
for the Shreveport Airport Authority, where she was responsible for fiscal
operations and leases.
Jackson is a former admissions counselor at Centenary
and most recently was executive director of the Cedar Grove Community
Development Corp., where he provided oversight for fundraising, research and
organization of capital resources. He graduated in 2010 from Grambling State
University with a bachelor's in Hotel Restaurant Management.
``I am very pleased to bring two of Shreveport's
best and brightest into the fold,'' Glover said. ``Both have the
professionalism, work ethic and skills needed to function at a high level and I
have no doubt they'll serve our citizens well in the roles they've been
assigned.''
