The latest T-Bone sweep took place this morning in Shreveport's Police District 4, which includes most of the Highlands area, as well as Stoner Hill and the Fairfield Historic District.
Residents were encouraged to bring waste/debris and large items to dumpsters placed across from the Highland Center at 520 Olive Street.
A team of police, property standards inspectors, animal
control officers and members of the community development team on hand to help
gather information and enforce city laws.
The T-Bone sweeps are part of the City of Shreveport's
ongoing effort to reduce blight in neighborhoods.
Project coordinator Dororthy Farnell said this week's
focus was on tires and inoperable vehicles.
Today's was the
sixth organized T-Bone Sweep.
Next week, the
T-Bone Sweep teams will visit District 5, which basically covers the 71105 zip
code area in southeast Shreveport.
