If you have bills to pay, you better make sure they are mailed before the weekend.
Today the U.S. Postal Service announced that it is saying goodbye to mail delivery on Saturdays.
The issue has been debated for months but a final decision has been made to do away with Saturday delivery.
Packages, mail-order medicine, and express mail will continue to be delivered on Saturday, but not letters, bills, cards, and catalogs.
Postal officials say the rising popularity of email and social media is eating away at its core business of delivering mail and with the climbing costs of providing health benefits to its workers is taking a toll on the agency.
The move is expected save the U.S. Postal Service about $2 billion a year.
