Man Found to be Unfit to Stand Trial

The man accused of killing a Bowie County Sheriff's Deputy is unfit to stand trial.
On Monday, a District Judge ordered 22-year-old Tucker Orton Strickland to be committed to a psychiatric hospital in Rusk, Texas.
In 2011, Strickland shot and killed Deputy Sherri Jones in the basement of the Bowie County Courthouse.
While he'll be held in the facility for an unknown amount of time, a mental evaluation will be done after the first 90 days.
If he's still found to be incompetent to stand trial, he'll continue to stay at that location.
No more court dates are scheduled at this time.
